The largest city in New England is also home to some of the best sporting events and venues in the country. Home to numerous professional and college teams, Boston has developed into one of the top and most historic sports cities in the country.

The oldest stadium in professional sports is a haven for baseball fans. Built in 1912 it is the home of the Boston Red Sox and has a capacity of over 39,000. Featuring the “Green Monster” and “Pesky’s Pole” it is one of the most unique sporting venues in the world. Tickets are hard to come by in this baseball-crazed city, but it is a must-see for any baseball or sports fan. Fenway Park also occasionally hosts concerts and other events.

TD Banknorth Garden
Built on top of North Station, the Garden is home to the NHL’s Boston Bruins and NBA’s Boston Celtics. Opening in 1995 it replaced the old Boston Garden and is one of three NBA Arenas to feature parquet floors. The TD Banknorth Garden is also home to the Beanpot which features the four major Boston college hockey teams in a two round tournament. Other events, including NCAA tournament games, are also played at the Garden.

Gillette Stadium
Located about 30 miles southwest of Boston it is home to the NFL’s New England Patriots and MLS’s New England Revolution. Gillette Stadium holds almost 69,000 people and is owned and operated by Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

Other Events and Venues
Home to four Division-I colleges, Harvard, Boston College, Boston University, and Northeastern, Boston has a variety of options for college sports.
The Boston Marathon is the oldest marathon in the world. Part of the Patriots Day celebration it is heavily attended and always coincides with a Boston Red Sox. Starting at 10:05 am it is the only MLB game to start before noon.
The Charles River is home to numerous regattas and boat races.
